Poor Yorick Studios slates two-day Open Studio March 28-29
Published by Professor Les March 22nd, 2008 in Current Events, Fine Art. Tags: No Tags. The 42 Salt Lake City artists who comprise the Poor Yorick Studios will hold their semi-annual, post-equinox Two Day Open Studio on Friday, March 28, from 6-10 p.m. and Saturday, March 29, from 1 to 5 p.m.
The studios are located at 126 W Crystal Ave (2590 S) in South Salt Lake. The event is free for admission but it is by invitation only. For more information, interested individuals can contact Brad Slaugh at bslaugh@comcast.net.
Among the artists to be featured will be John-Paul Jespersen, whose photographic work has been featured and discussed in this blog. See here for more information.
The Open Studios event, held each year after the vernal and autumnal equinoxes, is a solid way to see the collective creative efforts of the city’s blossoming arts community. Friday evening’s events will feature free-form jazz and spoken words of Seraphim. Yorick, of course, was the frolicsome rogue referenced in Shakespeare’s Hamlet.

One correction: The Open Studio is a private party to which every cool person in Salt Lake is invited, whether they received an actual card in the mail or not. Public events have arcane rules and restrictions regarding adult beverages that private parties do not, and we are simply trying to navigate the labyrinth of Utah’s enlightened liquor laws. We will not be checking who has invitations and who does not, and certainly nobody will be turned away at the door who is not on the list. However, nobody under 21 will be served alcohol at this event, so don’t even try. We’ll have lots of other legal liquid options for teetotalers and minors.
If you’d like to be on our invitation list, simply email me at bslaugh@comcast.net.
Dear Brad, Please include me on your cool person list.
