I do not know if anyone can answer my question or not. I was on the internet a few weeks ago and found a tattoo-put on someone already-of Jesus on the Cross. More specifically he appeared to be bleeding and the main focus of the art was on the upper part of the body and there was alot of red in the tattoo. Almost realistic in the detail. I believe it was on a back.
If any one ever saw this they would not forget it and the reason I am asking is because I would like to know who the artist is?
If you can help I would be grateful. Thanks!

Thank you for posting this article. The information that Jann Haworth made changes to the Sgt. Peppers mural in Salt Lake is inspiring. I am interested in finding out more about the work that was displayed at the library this Summer. I especially loved the collages she created that showed the lives of women.

Very interesting post. I do hope Caputos will be ok under the present economic climate though, those luxury oils and vinegars are probably going to be looking fairly extravagant to most buyers.

There's plenty of evidence in 2008 to throw the original "Bradley Effect" out the window as a dated phenomena. Here's the evidence "the Bradley Effect" is gone: (1) Hillary Clinton (2) Joe Biden (3) Bill Richardson (4) Chris Dodd (5) John Edwards (6) Mike Gravel (7) Dennis Kucinich. Once you recognize this fact - x 7 - you must question the spin abound in defining the "reverse" Bradley Effect.
In the mid '70's I listened to civil rights activist Julian Bond speak on campus. During the Q & A time, to everyone who took issue with him, many posing intellectually developed questions, he immediately responded, "You're a racist". What we were witnessing was a precursor to the conditioning of a susceptible white America. Americans who were just learning the history of despicable acts of racism. Americans who were not personally victimized by black on white crime, and could rationalize the inherent racism of affirmative action. Americans who were distanced from isolated black Americans and bought into believing they couldn't understand because, after all, "it's a black thing". They were racists. And they felt guilty. We felt guilty. We are guilty.
It's time we make amends for our ignorance. What a historic opportunity we have with Barack Obama.
NOW you understand The Reverse Bradley Effect. Liberal white America believes we must bear the fruit of a pitiful racial conditioning. Nothing else matters. As Malcolm X said, "By any means necessary."
We can accept this truth - x 7, or mock it, seeking the social and personal acceptance we've sought our whole life.

Great Post. Quick and astute analysis that I am sure will be echoed by many... some directly from your blog. :)

Your three key points are exactly those that the President and Congress hyped, and exactly the ones that were total B.S. within the bill.

Everyone SPEND, but spend wisely! That's the quickest way to cure what ails us.

Apart from color, the defining issue of this Presidential election is class. It's about choosing how resources are organised and whom this organisation will predominantly benefit.

If this is made crystal clear, there can be no doubt who would win the Presidency. A continuation or worsening of the economic reality of the past 7 years would result in a widening of the gap between the poor and shrinking middle class vs the rich. Of all races.

No doubt about it, race is the elephant in the room. Polls won't tell the story because people don't want to appear racist. I hope Obama can get Colin Powell on the campaign trail with him.

This is another fine example of the tremendous impact Caputo's has had on our community. Their progressive commitment to expanding their collection in a way that is thoughtful and fastidious is a great reminder that SLC is only getting better. While the diversity of cheeses may not yet compare to that of LHF, Caputo's leads the way in consistent, authentic commitment to food sans the pretension.

I think Caputo's is positioned to be the top cheese seller, but it is likely to be first in volumne (among speciality cheese stores) and second in quality for some time to come. Having the best wine cellar in town only really matters if you put the best wine into it. One can argue that purchasing the big restaurant wines Jordan/Parmigiano, Caymus/Gouda, Shafer/Triple cream and letting them age is as good as it gets. But I don't think so. There is a lot happening in small production, young, raw milk, farmhouse cheeses in Europe these days, and Caputo's only scratches the surface compared to Liberty Fresh. The carefully selected collection of boutique wines/cheeses that Liberty has is far superior to Caputo's for those of us who really appreciate the true European cheese plate at the end of a meal. It only takes one trip to Paris to see that it's the cheeses at Liberty that can be the sharp focus at the end of the meal.

It's good to see Caputo's getting small production interesting cheeses, but they still tend to specialize in the kinds of hard cheeses that come in big wheels that American's so love.

Thanks for your review -- we appreciate the kind words.

In our view, the groundswell IS a threat. People need to pay attention. But rather than rail against it as "The Cult of the Amateur" suggests, we advise people to accept that they are no longer in charge of their brands, if they ever were, and to find ways to succeed in the new world.

The response has been pretty positive, partly due to reviews like this. Thanks again.

Liberty Fresh has been carrying fine chocolate for a number of years. They have some duplicates with Tony, but are mostly a complementary selection of similar quality.

This also holds true for the cheese selection. Also, here I give the nod to Liberty for their selections.

Pralus? Barf! They dark-roast everything and have a ways to go before they should be mentioned in the same sentence as Amedei, Domori, and even Amano.

One correction: The Open Studio is a private party to which every cool person in Salt Lake is invited, whether they received an actual card in the mail or not. Public events have arcane rules and restrictions regarding adult beverages that private parties do not, and we are simply trying to navigate the labyrinth of Utah's enlightened liquor laws. We will not be checking who has invitations and who does not, and certainly nobody will be turned away at the door who is not on the list. However, nobody under 21 will be served alcohol at this event, so don't even try. We'll have lots of other legal liquid options for teetotalers and minors.

If you'd like to be on our invitation list, simply email me at bslaugh@comcast.net.
